Artifact Analysis - Programs run monthly from January - May, 2025

We are excited to kick off the year with the launch of a new monthly series, offering an exclusive preview of artifacts featured in our upcoming exhibit, "The History of Oconomowoc in 150 Objects." Each program will spotlight a different artifact, with museum staff and volunteers sharing a concise history of the item, explaining its selection for the exhibit, and reflecting on its significance to the presenter. Complete schedule below. All presentations begin at 12:30 PM and last approximately 30 minutes.

January 16 - Increase Lapham Portrait

February 20 - Oconomowoc Canning Company's Teenie Weenie Peas Can

March 20 - Felix Morris Bust

April 17 - Dames Bottling Co. Bottles

May 15 - Original Plank from the Watertown Plank Road

A Visit to Miniatur Wunderland: The World's Largest Model Railroad - Saturday, April 26 ~ 10:00 AM

Through pictures and videos, you'll get the chance to visit the largest model railway system in the world, which has been voted the most popular tourist attraction in Germany. Visitors can admire different countries and even an airport and harbor in miniature size. Besides the impressive representation of Hamburg, other regions modeled include the Austrian Alps, France, Italy, Scandinavia, Monica, Rio De Janeiro and cities of the USA!

Cost: Free for members; $10.00 suggested donation for non-members


Artifact Analysis: 150 Years in 15 Objects - Saturday, June 14 ~ 10:00 AM

This program is the culmination of our Artifact Analysis series. Join us as we spotlight fifteen artifacts from our museum-wide exhibition, The History of Oconomowoc in 150 Objects. Museum Director Justin Agar-Pratt and Museum Assistant Alex Michalski will share a concise history of each item, explaining its selection for the exhibit, and reflecting on its significance to the presenter. This program is a part of our year-long celebration of Oconomowoc's sesquicentennial anniversary.
